Info:

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was originally designed by Gerald Genta who also designed the Patek Philippe Nautilus – amongst many other watch cases. The Royal Oak 5402 was first launched in Basel in 1972 and once the market had got over its radical design it became an iconic model – much the same as the Patek Nautilus. At 3300 Swiss Francs it was about 10 times more expensive than a Rolex Submariner. In recent years the Jumbo prices have recently risen sharply – the result being that collectors are now looking at the slightly chunkier 15300ST as a more affordable, but equally elegant alternative. The 15300 was first launched in 2005 and discontinued in 2012; so it had a run of just 7 years before AP introduced the 41mm Ref. 15400. The 15300 comes with just 3 colour dials, white, black and the most popular Blue – of which this is a particularly beautiful example
