40mm. diameter steel case with big thick lugs, it looks like it's never been polished, it's very difficult to tell. Between the lugs is the reference 5513 and the serial number on the opposing side, the inside of the cover is engraved 5513. The bezel insert is original with perfect font and the big hooked 5, there's a crack in the insert right at the pip, but because it's at the pip and the pip is probably original it doesn't take the eye away from the dial |

Info: |
Stunning Rolex Submariner 5513 with its original pre-comex dial and hands, it also has the original 93150 bracelet with 580 end links and a clasp code D for 1979. Original matte dial with beautiful original creamy-coloured markers & matching hands. The Pre-Comex dial is only seen in the 5 million serial range cases and the name "Pre-Comex" was coined for this dial as it shared a lot of the same dial fonts and characteristics of the Rolex ref. 5514 Comex watches. The unique characteristics of the Pre-Comex dials are: Open 6‘s in the depth rating. The Rolex coronet is very fat at the bottom The “=” sign in the depth rating sits directly above and slightly to the left of the “A” in “SUBMARINER” instead of being in the center or slightly to the right as seen in the other dials The letter “L” in “ROLEX” sits left of center under the coronet and features strong serifs. Finally to have the original insert it should have reasonably fat font and a hooked 5 All these features this watch has – with bags of character and more besides! Watch Only! |
